The Gairloch Area just north of the Applecross peninsula is one of the most scenic areas of Scotland s west coast and offers a wealth of spectacular scenery and activities for visitors. This is an Ideal base for visiting the west coast and the Islands. For outdoor enthusiasts there are excellent opportunities for walking cycling fishing pony trekking sailing kayaking boat trips golf and climbing one of the many Munro s in the area. Enjoy the wonderful uncrowded sandy beaches in the area such as the Big Sand and Redpoint try whale spotting from the Rubha Reidh Lighthouse or visit the Gairloch Heritage Museum and the sub-tropical garden at Inverewe.
