The regional capital Barnstaple is a short drive and offers indoor shopping at Green Lanes arcade; the pannier market and theatre are both worth a visit and are the centre of the annual North Devon Festival. At the town s railway station you can pick up the traffic free Tarka Trail bike hire is available from Fremington Quay a little further up river. Also within easy reach are Braunton Nature Reserve Exmoor National Park coastal resorts such as Lynton and Lynmouth and fishing is available approximately 3 miles away.
