The medieval market town of Kendal is also close by where you can find a Museum, a castle and ample stores to satisfy even the keenest of shoppers. Closer to home, Old Hutton is a pretty village, a former winner of the National Villages in Bloom competition and the perfect choice for a relaxing break. Holmescales Riding Centre and Holmescales Activity Centre, both a short walk from Dovestone Cottage, are ideal for sampling at some point during your stay, particular good fun for the larger party.
