Jenkin Hill Lodge Description
Jenkin Hill Lodge is attached to Jenkin Hill House, a charming country house whose origins date back to the 17th century, with later additions in Victorian times. Jenkin Hill is situated in the village of Thornthwaite, set in delightful grounds overlooking the Derwent marshes between Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater and with views to the surrounding fells. The cottage was modernised and refurbished in 2011, it has a lovely spacious sitting room on the first floor which takes advantage of the splendid views, a fully tiled bathroom and country cottage style kitchen. Thornthwaite lies beneath Whinlatter, with visitor centre, mountain biking, forest trials, Go Ape and close to Thornthwaite Gallery.
