Laykin Description
Set in an elevated position high in the valley benefiting from delightful views over Swaledale, Laykin has undergone a sympathetic restoration project completed in 2009 to provide holiday accommodation to a superior standard. Beautifully furnished and decorated, the cottage contains cosy features such as a Rayburn Aga, wood burning stove and complete underfloor heating on the ground floor and in the bathrooms. The kitchen/diner is perfect for entertaining, with a large dining table, and for those not accustomed to Rayburn cooking, the thoughtful owners have provided a conventional electric oven for ease of self catering. A spacious rear boot room with a heated towel rail is the perfect place to dry wet clothes or boots. Upstairs, the bedrooms are furnished with solid oak beds which are elevated, both to take advantage of the views at the front of the house, and for your comfort after a hard days exploring the area. Footpath walks can be accessed direct from the door making Laykin an ideal holiday cottage for keen ramblers and hikers.Artists and photographers will love to discover the beautiful wildflower meadows, varying terrain and picturesque Dales villages.
