Owl House Description
Owl House details
Owl House is an old shippen, providing holiday accommodation in the quiet hamlet of Treneague in Cornwall.
It stands in the grounds of a 17th century cottage but is not overlooked. French windows lead to a secluded terrace with fig trees and yuccas, enclosed by dry stonework. With only the sound of owls at night it is a tranquil place.
There are walks from the front door, and glimpses of nuthatches and woodpeckers.
Minutes away in Wadebridge, bikes can be hired for cycling to Padstow, Rick Stein's restaurants, and wonderful coastal walks.
Swimming and surfing, both sides of the estuary, are within 20 minutes by car. Many other attractions - The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and Tate St Ives are within easy reach. In autumn and winter, the white sandy beaches are deserted, and walkers and birdwatchers have the woods and sea walks to themselves.
