The Old Stables Description
This charming cottage has been architecturally designed, decorated and furnished throughout by an interior designer. It is of historic and literary interest. Hugh Walpole based his novels Herries Chronicle here. Set in extensive grounds comprising garden and woodland with access to Binsey Fell it has the advantage of many other walking opportunities from the doorstep. High Ireby is the location. A hamlet on the northern fringe of the National Park and a very quiet, peaceful area with easy access to Carlisle and the Solway Firth.
