Set in the peaceful, unspoiled countryside of the Towy Valley is the small scattered village of Golden Grove. Situated within the Carmarthenshire region, this quaint little settlement is near the Gelli Aur Country Park – a wonderful spot with a 20-acre deer park, a 10-acre rhododendron garden and various exciting nature trails. Just a short drive away is Dinefwr Castle and the National Botanical Gardens of Wales as well as the market town of Llandeilo. With a number of quaint little shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, this charming little retreat is well worth visiting. 15 miles away visitors can enjoy another of the region’s famous market towns. Carmarthen is said to be the birthplace of Merlin, the legendary wizard of King Arthur. Nowadays though, the town is best known for its steam standard gauge railway – the only one in the South West and Wales.
