Located in the North York Moors National Park, Fryup Dale is a largely undiscovered area, ideal as a base from which to begin exploring the surrounding countryside. Whether you plan to make your way around the region on foot, by bike or car, there is something for everyone to see and do in this wonderful landscape. Surrounded by heather-clad moors, this region is popular for walkers who will be spoiled for choice by the many footpaths and trails across the countryside. For train lovers there are a variety of old engines running from nearby Lealholm, through the lovely Esk Valley to Whitby, calling at many pretty villages along the way. Linking with the ever-popular North York Moors Steam Railway at Grosmont, the Esk valley line is well worth taking a trip on.
