Situated between Cork City and the town of Mallow is the pretty village of Grenagh. The village has many amenities including a shop, chemist, medical centre, hairdresser's, post office and church. For fishermen, head to Blackwater Valley, which is known as one of the best salmon fishing rivers in Ireland. Just seven miles away is the elegant Blarney Castle, with its rock close, stunning gardens and the famous Stone of Eloquence. For whiskey drinking adults, The Old Middleton Distilllery with the Jameson Heritage Centre is nearby and offers a tour and whiskey tasting session. Within an hours drive from Grenagh is Cobh, a busy town with many attractions, shops and pubs. Cobh was the last port of call for the Titanic. Also in the area is the fantastic FOTA wildlife park.
