The village of Kilkee is a charming seaside town, set on the western coast of County Clare. The mile-long horseshoe bay on which the town sits boasts a gently sloping blue flag beach, protected from the Atlantic weather by the Duggerna Reef. Kilkee itself has a well-deserved reputation as the safest bathing place in Ireland whilst the Kilkee Surf School runs surf camps for children aged 9 to 16 at Kilkee and Doughmore beaches every week of the summer holidays. The local 'Waterworld’ attraction is a popular all-weather facility and offers a range of indoor water activities including a bubble pool, shower geysers, the 'lazy river ride' and a 61m crystal tower slide. The Thalassotherapy Centre is also close by and offers a variety of sea based therapies, whilst for sports enthusiasts the 18-hole championship golf course is situated on the road towards George's Head and stretches along the spectacular cliffs.
