In the heart of beautiful Teesdale and close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton is the small hamlet of Mickleton. Set within a few minutes' drive of the market town of Barnard Castle, this charming little settlement is composed primarily of a single street with a cluster of stone houses surrounding it. The village offers a post office, village shop and two pubs, however Barnard Castle is able to provide all that Mickleton can not and makes for a fascinating location for a day trip. There are excellent walking and cycling opportunities in the area and those wishing to take advantage of the beautiful scenery can enjoy walks on The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, taking in the sights of The River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force all close by.
