New Cumnock is a village in beautiful Ayrshire, which dates back to the 13th Century. The countryside surrounding New Cumnock is renowned for its beauty, with the river valley Glen Afton often visited by the Scottish poet Robert Burns, and the river Afton itself immortalised in song. Burns' visit itself has been memorialised in the form of a stone cairn and picnic area. There are stunning links golf courses in the area, including the seaside course at Ayr, the town which also offers plenty of bars, restaurants and a sandy beach. From castles to deerparks to walking, cycling and fishing, there is so much on offer in this lovely Scottish region.
