Old Colwyn is an excellent jumping off point for exploring North Wales. This quiet seaside town is situated two miles east of the coastal resort of Colwyn Bay with its selection of restaurants and pubs. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the wide sweeping promenade that extends all along the bay from Old Colwyn to Penrhyn Bay, the long coastal cycle trail, and three miles of sandy beaches. The picturesque harbour and pier at Rhos-on-Sea; Colwyn Bay; the Welsh Mountain Zoo; the all weather facilities of Eirias Park and some good local golf courses are all within reach of Old Colwyn. Also within reach close by are Llandudno and Conwy, a medieval town with a fascinating 13th century castle.
