The vibrant town of Ballinrobe is situated by the River Robe in County Mayo, close to Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. Dating back to the 1300s, it is thought to be the oldest town in South Mayo. The town now has a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and pubs and its location makes it an ideal base to explore County Mayo and County Galway. There are a number of outdoor activities available in the area, from fishing on the nearby lakes to a round of golf on one of the many fine golf courses in the area. Further away and roughly a two-hour drive lies the National Park of Connemara with wonderful walks and breathtaking scenery. This is a wonderful region for a holiday at any time of year.
