Set on the border between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, the pretty village of Warton is located beneath Warton Crag; a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village itself offers a post office and two traditional pubs that serve fine ales and good food. The surrounding landscape boasts great walking and cycling opportunities as well as access to the Lancaster Canal. The RSPB Nature Reserves at Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay are well worth a visit, offering birdwatching enthusiasts the chance to see a number of species in their natural habitat. In addition, the nearby town of Carnforth provides a good range of amenities and the towns of Kirkby Lonsdale, Kendal and Windermere all within easy driving distance.
